  • The reason I focus on the 5 pillars of health, breathing, sleep, exercise, nutrition and the mind is that they are all foundational for good health and all very closely linked to each other. If you have poor sleep, you have poor cognitive function and you are likely to reach out for sugary foods and you are also less likely to exercise. For someone else a busy, anxious mind can be a limiting factor and contribute to poor health and another one is stuck in a poor diet and no physical activity cycle. Listening and learning about your habits is the foundation of my coaching approach. Let me help you identify and implement the most pleasant yet effective health interventions.

MY COACHING METHOD

  • BREATHING

Optimal breathing has immense health benefits and it is the easiest way to control our nervous system. When you breathe slow you’re sending a message to your brain that you are safe and your nervous system goes into the parasympathetic state, rest and digest. By breathing you can affect your cellular respiration and cell metabolism as well as cellular energy production. The better your cells produce energy, the more energy you have, so breathing is a fundamental part of our health. As an Oxygen Advantage breathing coach, I have the expertise to guide your path to better breathing with ease and lightness.

  • SLEEP

Sleep is everything! With poor sleep your body and brain do not function optimally, you need proper sleep to clean up your brain and sustain information. In order to fix your sleep, we first need to find out what is hindering it, is it a busy mind, snoring or mouth breathing, the timing of your sleep, the environment, a late meal or a late workout, caffeine or alcohol intake to give a few examples. Once we have determined what is causing the lack or poor quality of sleep, we can work to change it, one easy step at a time.

  • MIND

To have a mind at peace is a great goal and perhaps more achievable than you thought. I have been a devoted student of Eckhart Tolle for almost 20 years as well as other spiritual teachers, such as Anthony De Mello. I like to put their teachings into practice as well as other mind management tools from experts in psychology. In order to have a calm mind, we need to become aware of it and learn how to break unhealthy thought patterns. Stress management is very common these days and we need to teach the mind to cope with it, yes by thinking, but also by breathing to calm down the nervous system.

  • NUTRITION

I consider everything we consume as part of our diet, also what we are exposed to daily. When we look at food, the only way to fix your diet is to acquire good eating habits one bite at a time with food you enjoy.

  • EXERCISE

With most people we are able to find a way to move that is fun or at least accessible and doable. I would love to help you find an activity that is fun, beneficial and joyful. Happy to take on a challenge!
